ROBERT MOUSEMAN THOMPSON EARLY OAK RACK

Originally made for a convent/monastery as pigeon holes in the 1920-30’s,  this rare piece was modified by our skilled team to accommodate wine bottles in 2015 and like many pieces we have sold in the last 25 years of trading its great for us to buy such rare and unusual pieces back

The piece divides into 3 sections for transport.  Each section having 10 pigeon holes allowing storage for 30 bottles per section – 90 in total

Each section has a carved Mouse signature in high relief with Latin inscriptions  – on top “HODIE MIHI CRAS TIBI”,  middle  “AUT DISCERE AUT CAEDI” and base  “LITERA SCRIPTA MANET”

One section is also carved with a monk in low relief and the whole piece has typical castellated carvings and adzed to all areas
