ROBERT MOUSEMAN THOMPSON RARE EARLY BURR OAK SIDEBOARD

A lovely Mouseman  burr oak sideboard, with an adzed rectangular top below a period carved ribbon back rail, above three graduated central drawers flanked by two cupboard doors with burr oak panels with a further three graduated smaller drawers to each side, with turned oak handles and wrought iron hinges and latches, raised on octagonal block feet, carved with high relief trademark mouse to left hand canted corner.

Size, 183 wide x 46 deep x 84 high cm.

Provenance: This piece was commissioned for Darras Hall, Ponteland in 1937.
