A pair of superb Robert Mouseman Thompson Bookends each carved in the form of a squirrel eating acorns with further acorns at their feet each fully adzed with carved opposite facing mouse signatures to each bookend

Early bookends are extremely rare and we have only seen photos of similar examples with acorns at the squirrel’s feet later versions do not have this feature see Tennants sale lot 1795 18/07/08 for a later pair.
