William E. Rees born 1933, awarded The British Empire Medal, emigrated to Perth in Australia and has exhibited in numerous exhibitions.  Animals were his key focus and he was a member of The Society of Equestrian Artists, he was also a Fellow of the Royal Arts Society.  He was commissioned by the Sultan of Brunei to produce two life size horses in bronze.  He returned to County Durham where he paints things of interest locally
